Public Speaking Anxiety - Co-creation Workshop

Hosting a co-creation workshop is a way of making sure the design outcome of a project is user-centered. The goal of this workshop was to design an engaging experience where potential final users can share their insights and ideas, and generate potential directions to move the project forward.

This workshop was executed as a research and ideation tool for my thesis project, which is on public speaking anxiety. Through my previous research I learned about different techniques used to reduce las-minute nerves and anxiety symptoms that manifest minutes before giving a presentation.

During the workshop we practiced impromptu speaking and performed some of the exercises that I had learned from subject matter experts such as voice coaches and therapists. The techniques included breathing exercises, body stretching exercises, and meditation.

Throughout the experience participants shared personal techniques that they use to get rid of nerves and stress before giving a presentation. I recorded these valuable insights to inform future projects within my thesis.
